Hometown runner Kolte Copp, from Glendive, MT has signed a Letter of Intent to run for Dawson Community College’s new cross country and track programs. Kolte is Coach Ben Sandy’s second signed athlete to join the Buccaneers running program. Kolte ran for Dawson County High school and has personal best times of 16:43 for 5k cross country, 4:49 mile and 2:01 800m.
Kolte is excited to begin running again and had this to say about joining the new program, “I chose to run for DCC because I miss running and the competition. I really enjoyed the people I competed against in high school and how they would always push me to go the extra mile.”
Coach Sandy is impressed with Kolte’s attitude and eagerness to improve as a runner as well as what Kolte will bring to the new program, “Kolte will be a solid competitor and bring mature leadership to the team and I will look for him to help mentor incoming student athletes as he already has college experience. With his experiences, my hope is we can help mitigate some anxiety that might be felt by his new teammates as they transition to the college and athlete’s lifestyle.”
