Thomas Rhett has earned his 21st career No. 1 with ‘Angels,’ first heard on Rhett’s sixth studio album WHERE WE STARTED. Written by Thomas Rhett alongside Julian Bunetta, Teddy Swims and Josh Thompson, the song is dedicated to his wife, Lauren. Rhett posted on Instagram: “Angels is officially the number one song at country radio this week… marking my 21st number one record 🤯 I’m so humbled & grateful to be on this journey and even more excited for what the next decade (and beyond) of music holds! Huge shout out to @teddyswims, @julianbulian, & @thejoshthompson for co-writing this one with me… and of course to @laur_akins for being the inspiration. Love y’all!!”

Rhett also said of ‘Angels’ in a press release: “I feel like I’ve been pretty known for love songs throughout my career, but I think we did a good job of portraying love from a different perspective on this one, so that makes it really special for me. This is really an ode to my wife, and on a grander scale, this is for that person in everybody’s life that has stuck with them through thick and thin. So thank you to all those people. It’s really cool to have been celebrating 20 number ones this year and now to be celebrating my 21st career number one is crazy. I’m just really humbled and grateful and can’t wait for the next ten years.”

Rhett is also set to release 20 NUMBER ONES, dropping September 29th. To pre-order 20 NUMBER ONES, head HERE.
