Standout Runner from Billings Skyview Commits to Dawson Cross Country and Track

Dawson cross country and track coach, Alex Wolff, announced her first signing for the 2021-2022 season. Connor Chase of Billings Skyview has signed his National Letter of Intent to run at Dawson Community College.

Coach Wolff said, “Connor is exactly what this team needs and will bring the men’s team up to the next level of competition! I am excited for Connor to continue to grow and excel as a runner, but he will also bring a strong sense of leadership to the program. I had the privilege to coach Connor a few years ago while coaching at Skyview, and I know he is a hard worker that will cheer on his teammates and push them to do their best.”

Chase has been a top runner on his team at Billings Skyview since he was a freshman, as well as a top runner in the state. After overcoming a tough season amidst Covid-19, as well as being quarantined mid cross country season this fall, Chase leaves high school cross country with a personal record of 17:04 in the 5k. He was ranked in the top 50 of Montana’s AA cross country runners.

Chase will be competing in the 8k for cross country, as well as looking at the mile, 3000 meter, 5k and possibly a 10k during track season. Connor also has the intention to compete in the half marathon for the Buccaneers beginning next fall.

“Connor is a Montana kid that is going to be a huge asset to our program and our school. I am excited to see his success during his time here at Dawson over the next two years,” Coach Wolff added.

Chase said this about his decision to come to Dawson, “I have wanted to compete at the college level since I was little. Dawson is the perfect fit, both athletically and academically, to help me reach the next level. I like running and I’m excited to compete for Dawson next year! Go Bucs!”
