DCC Softball Lands Power Hitting Catcher from Billings West High School

Dawson Community College Head Softball Coach Jim LeProwse is pleased to announce the signing of Mckinsey Matthews from Billings West High School in Billings, Montana.

Mckinsey has been a 4 year Varsity starter at West High School. While at West, she was the 2019 Team Defensive Player of the Year and a 2019 All-Conference Runner Up. At the Valley Invitational Tournament in Portland, Oregon, she had a Bat Exit Velocity measured at 76mph.  She had a .438 BA, .981 Field %, and has hit 41 career home runs. During her summer club softball season in 2020, she had a .615 batting average.

“Mckinsey is a fantastic addition to our softball program. She possesses as much power as any player that we have ever had in the past. Mckinsey is a very talented catcher and comes from a great high school program. She will do great things at Dawson. I am very pleased that Mckinsey chose Dawson to continue her academic and athletic careers,” said Coach LeProwse.
