A fourth grader from Lincoln Elementary School in Glendive won third place in Energy Share of Montana’s statewide art contest.  Talena Temple received a $25.00 check from Energy Share on Monday, February 24 when Kevin Thompson, Energy Programs Director at Action for Eastern Montana, presented Talena with her prize.  Additionally, Talena’s teacher Jasmin Winchell received a $25.00 Walmart gift card to use for classroom supplies.

First place in the contest went to Nolan Lippy of Florence.  Lippy’s drawing will be used on Energy Share’s thank you cards statewide beginning July 1.  Lily Wallace of Florence won second place.

The art contest is part of Energy Share’s overall efforts to educate the public on the energy needs of our neighbors across the state.  Donations from individuals and businesses including utility companies, electric cooperatives, the propane industry, and large electric users make it possible for Energy Share to help Montanans who face emergency, no-heat situations when they encounter temporary financial difficulties.  Working with Action for Eastern Montana, over the last two heating seasons Energy Share helped 332 families in eastern Montana.  Statewide, Energy Share helped 5,838 families over two years.

All the fourth graders who participated in the art contest send a big “thank you” message to those who donate to Energy Share to help keep their neighbors warm.  If you would like more information please call Action for Eastern Montana at 406-377-3564, the statewide Energy Share office at 1-888-779-7589 or 442-4900, or visit the websites at https://aemt.org/ or www.energysharemt.com.
