For the 4th year in a row, the Lady Buccaneers Basketball team of Dawson Community College has been nationally recognized for having one of the highest team GPAs in the junior college division. The Lady Bucs were honored with the academic achievement by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association for being in the Top 20 again.
Dawson had a team 3.04 GPA. This past season, there were seven players named to the Mon-Dak Academic All-Conference and two players on the President’s Honor List. DCC was also recognized nationally by the NJCAA.
Head Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. was super excited about the team’s academic accolades, “I can’t stress enough the importance of the academic achievements our program at Dawson has established over the last four years. As competitive as we are on the court, there’s a good understanding that those expectations are carried into the academic realm as well. We’re proud to say that our Lady Bucs understand winning is important in the classroom as well.”
