Booster clubs are organizations in schools at the high school and university level. The clubs are generally run and organized by the parents of the students in the supported organization in high schools, and by athletic supporters and fans at colleges. It is not a social club. Its main function is to develop support for the student program and raise funds to supplement shrinking public support as a result of budget cuts.

The Red Devil’s booster club was started in 1963 by a group of local fans. Among those was Kenny McGovern whose family gave a memorial to the club to assure the outstanding senior athlete awards would continue for many years to come.

Beside the athletes are those that help support them either via monetary means, volunteer hours, or general support. Marcy Smith of Mary in the Morning on our KDZN dial 96.5 was given the Red Devil Booster of the Year Award for such support. Her efforts had not gone unnoticed by those in the Booster Club or by those in the community.5

Thank you Marcy.
