Dawson Community College Announces Winners of High School Welding ,FFA Competitions

Dawson Community College recently welcomed regional high school students on campus for the 2nd Annual Buccaneer Welding Invitational and the FFA Judging Contest.

Students were able to take part in both competitions. The welding invitational included both individual and team events, and FFA students were able to complete in Agronomy, Horse Evaluation, Livestock, and Mechanics. All competitors had a chance to take part in activities throughout the Glendive community and on campus. These included meeting with current DCC students, learning about corrosion technology, speaking with the chief of police, meeting industry leaders, and touring SRS Crisafulli and Makoshika State Park.

Welding competition winners received tuition waivers and welding gear. Winning teams walked away with gift certificates to General Distributing to purchase materials for their schools’ welding labs.
