The Dawson County Red Devils were handed a hard to swallow defeat Friday night as they fell to the Sidney Eagles 20 to 16. The game was defined by the hard work in the trenches by both teams. Sidney scored first and set the tempo for a back-and-forth game.
At the end of regulation the game was tied. Sidney won the toss and elected to defer to the Red Devils. The Red Devils tried to punch it in 3 times coming up just short. On 4th and 2 they kicked a field goal and took the lead.
Sidney worked the ball to the 3 yard line on the first play and were able to drive up the middle on their second attempt to score a touchdown and win.
